Bon Jovi fires guitarist Richie Sambora

Bon Jovi fires guitarist Richie Sambora
On Friday, August 21, 2013, Rumorfix reveled Bon Jovi guitarist, Richie Sambora, has been fired from the band. Sambora has been with the 80s rock band for over 30 years, serving as lead guitarist and co-song writer. He has been right along side of front man Jon Bon Jovi, sharing the limelight. Neither Sambora nor Bon Jovi are not commenting on the story. Another source claims Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres has insisted that Richie's absence is because of "personal problems", not due to discord with Jon Bon Jovi. Torres went on to say he feels it is personal problems. “People are allowed to take care of things in their lives. I think it's important to give that support," he said.

Bon Jovi is currently smack dab in the middle of their world wide tour, The Because We Can Tour, which kicked off in Washington DC on February 10 of this year. His apparent replacement is Philip ‘Phil X’ Xenidis, who recently filled in for Sambora during a number of dates on their current tour. Now comes the rumor that Xenidis is only making $10,000 a month vs. the $2 million a month and 20 percent of the profits after each show Sambora has been receiving, leading fans to believe his dismissal was due to financial reasons and greed.

But just who is this new axe man? Xenidis was the founder of the rock band Sidinex, which released only one album in 1985. The band then changed its name to Flip City, and shortly after were long gone. He did tour with Aldo Nova and later Triumph, but mainly Xenidis was been a session guitarist for the likes of Tommy Lee, Avril Lavigne, Rob Zombie, and Alice Cooper, just to name a few.

Sambora has had his share of personal problems in the past, leading many to speculate old demons as a possible cause for his absence in Bon Jovi. On June 7, 2007, it was announced that Sambora was entering a rehab for the treatment of alcoholism. Upon his release from the treatment center, he told sources he just needed to get his life in order and sober up, and was feeling great. He claims to have continued therapy after his release, but on March 26, 2008, Sambora was arrested for drunk driving in California. And to make matters worse, his ten-year-old daughter and her friend were both in the vehicle at the time of his arrest for DUI.

Sambora was married to actress Heather Locklear, aka: The former Mrs. Tommy Lee (Motley Crew drummer). The couple have a daughter, Ava Elizabeth Sambora, born October 4, 1997. The couple filed for divorced in February 2006 citing irreconcilable differences.

Fans are fuming mad over the announcement of Sambora’s departure from the band and have not been shy about voicing their disgust by commenting over the internet. The census is that Sambora is a staple of the band Bon Jovi, much like the Rolling Stones would be without Keith Richards, hence no Sambora, no Bon Jovi. Perhaps Jon Bon Jovi should reconsider. Bon Jovi is "Living on a Prayer" without Richie Sambora. Gotta keep the fans happy Jon!
