Silhouette SVG Gift Card Holder
In this Silhouette Studio tutorial, we will create an SVG cutting file for a gift card holder. This simple gift card holder is an easy project for Silhouette Studio. We only need one piece of holiday cardstock and your cutting machine.

- In the Page Setup panel, set the Machine to Cameo 5, Feed Type to Auto/Manual, Cutting mat to Cameo and Media Size to your paper size (see screenshot).
- With the Rectangle tool, draw an 8 by 4.5 inches rectangle. This is the holder base.
- Double-click the rectangle to enter the Edit Points mode. Click the top center of the rectangle to add an anchor point. Drag the point downward .125 inch (see screenshot).
- Draw a score line 2.5 inches down from the top left corner of the holder.
- From the Quick Assess Toolbar, set the Stroke color to blue.
- Repeat the previous steps to add another fold line. Place the score line 6 inches down from the top left corner.
- Select everything, right-click and choose Group.
- With the holder cut line still selected, open the Send panel. Click the Line tab at the top of the panel.
- For the red lines, set the Action option to Cut. For the blue lines, set the Action to Score (see screenshot).
- Click the Send button at the bottom of the panel.
- Fold the holder base along both of the score lines (see screenshot).
- Fold the bottom flap upward and glue it to the side edges of the holder base (see screenshot).
- Fold the top flap downward (see screenshot).
- Cut a star from a Silhouette gold foil sheet and use it to seal the holder closed.
We will give the top end of the holder a little interest by changing the shape.
Now we will add the two fold lines. We will make these fold or score lines blue in color in preparation of using the Cut by Line Color feature. We will tell the cutting machine to cut the red lines and score the blue lines (see screenshot).
